Process

My first duty as your architect is to understand your goals, desires & budget. We define your goals with the initial steps that follow and establish a detailed outline to carry us through the project.

  1. Client Questionnaire to define the project’s scope, character, and personality.
  2. Detailed Space Budget that defines room-by room sizes & proposed square footage, which directly apply to proposed project cost.
  3. Site analysis to define opportunities and constraints

From the above information we advance to conceptual design where I create a common language for our work together. In the spirit of common language I prepare a multitude of rendered sketches and eye-level views of the initial concept plans which provide my clients with a comfort level that they could not otherwise obtain through conventional design.

It is very important for people to “see” the spaces of the building as it will be, plans alone are not enough.

This ‘common language’ of visual tools has proven highly successful and ultimately is the basis for the success of the entire project. Spaces can be changed easily on paper.

From the conceptual stage we move to detailed design engaging interior design, landscape design, structural, mechanical, plumbing and electrical design to complete the permit set and prepare for construction.

Once the permit to construct is issued we can assist during the building process to aide the entire team from the ground up. This service is valuable to the continuity of the project from its inception to its completion.
